Datafiniti’s marketing site served to inform and sell potential customers on Datafiniti’s services. The marketing site offered details about the types of data the company sold, as well as pricing and company information.
Branding, UI Design, Visual Design, HTML, CSS, Google Analytics
As the in-house designer for Datafiniti, I worked with the CEO and head of marketing to design the UI, visual design and illustrations for the marketing site. I also contributed ideas for types of content as well as ways of increasing the number of leads the site generates. Along with my design duties, I handled all HTML and CSS for the site. I also set up Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and KissMetrics to track events and conversions, and to run A/B tests to test different lead form designs.
I created several home page designs that demonstrated possible directions for the visual design. In addition to the overall site design, I created all the art used in the marketing site, including data visualizations using real-time data. I reviewed the design concepts with stakeholders at several points during the design process. After much discussion, a design style was chosen.
Shown here are screen-shots of the finished Datafiniti marketing site. The design that was chosen was minimal and worked well with the company logo. The color scheme was also drawn largely from colors used in the logo. I worked with the head of marketing to make sure the design worked with the content and vice versa, in some cases setting copy lengths for each content block. I added a lead form at the bottom of each page to encourage potential customers to contact the company. The site loaded quickly regardless of device or bandwidth speed and worked well across different screen sizes.
